'Stroke' whilst 20 weeks Pregnant

In January 2001 I had a stroke whilst 20 weeks pregnant. My healthy daughter was delivered by c-section later on that year. The stroke left me with a right sided paralysis in my arm/hand. I can walk not very far and slow. I just want to say if anyone finds themselves in a similar position "you will find a way, might not be a quick way but you will find a way" I have set up a website called www.mumswithdisability.co.uk. I will happy to answer any of your queries.

Great website, well done for setting it up. I wonder how common 'stroke' in pregnancy is?

You are the only other person I've heard of, I had one at 37 weeks, caused by my ds sitting on my blood supply. Initially I was paralysed from chest down, and was blind, but I was very lucky that paralysis was all gone in 2 weeks, and sight was back completely within the month. Certainly, it didn't seem something they were used to seeing in my local hospital.
