Just a bit of advice, my daughters on sma gold milk but it doesn't seem to be agreeing with her! She's always throwing up lots after her feed, is it safe to change the milk to another brand? Will it make her ill?

Yes, it is safe to change to another milk but I would have a chat to the HV or GP about it to make sure there isn't any medical problem causing the vomiting.

How long has she been on it? How old is she? Plenty of wet and dirty nappies?

Totally safe unless you are being prescribed SMA
My son would only tolerate cow and gate- dunno why!
Have you considered reflux? Just an avenue, my son had it mildly, propping the bed up at the head End mostly resolved the issue but I know someone who had it more seriously and was helped by meds.
Good luck, we tried a few milks before we found one and a teat design that worked for him.

They are all much the same TBH - have to be as the law stipulates what they have to contain.

I would just try what you like the look of, whats easily available locally, and see how you get onSmile

I was thinking maybe aptamil! Can I just change it straight away or have to wean her onto it?

Do your research before changing.
Aptamil contains probiotics.
Can't remember all technical stuff but if you google you can find out loads about it.Stimulates bowel which is fine if baby needs it but if not can make very explosive nappies and not good for them.

I put changed DD from Aptamil to SMA gold to Hipp Organic.

There is so little decent information on formula. My DD was absolutely fine once on Hipp after BF failed Sad

Good luck

when my DD was little she could not tolerate SMA gold either and I switched her aptimil and she was fine Smile

How old is your DD??

DaniJade1990 · 08/08/2010 22:24

Almost a month old !

Aww bless, still tiny Grin

TBH I would change the milk and see if it makes a difference. I have found SMA very rich.

It might be worth buying a large carton of the ready made stuff first so see if it makes a difference before buying a massive tub of powder iyswim Smile
