Hi everyone
I'm 32 weeks pregnant with DS1 and we are really struggling to come up with a little shortlist of names before we meet him and see what suits. We both want something a tiny bit uncommon but nothing too out there.

I like Edgar and also Rowan.

Any ideas/inspiration? Names you have used yourself/love the sound of?

Thanks!

Rowan is nice, Egdar is cute but I like Rowan more. What about Edmund/Edmond aswel (Edgar reminds me of that)

Firawala I really like Edmund (also shortened to Ned) but DH has an irrational dislike of it.

Thanks for the suggestions!

My son is called Orson (so careful what you say about it!). He is named after Orson Welles, the film director. We thought it was unusual but not outrageous.

Love Rowan too but always loved Reuben as it means "behold a boy"

I don't know if I'd necessarily chose from these, but they are uncommon names I've encountered recently that aren't particularly outrageous:

Kamen (pronounced Carmen...)
Fitz
Connor
Dylan
Jared
Cale

I like Jensen Beau for a boy but Rowan is nice too

I used to know a female Rowan (and a female Rohan), so think of it as a girls' name first - despite Atkinson.

I like Edgar - also Edwin, Edward, Edmond, Edwulf; or if it!a the "-gar" suffix you like, how about Hrothgar?

I was very stuck on Thomas throughout my pregnancy - then 2 weeks before he arrived I fell out of love with that and we eventually settled on Nathan. Or 'Natan' in French - which now gets shortened to Nat (as in bat) by both english and french friends.
