Leaving a 19 month ds in house alone!!

Ok, so we have a little arrangement going where, when I finish work on an evening, way past ds's bedtime, the next door neighbour comes round and sits in the house for 10 mins while dh picks me up. Now I have said that sometimes I won't mind if dh just drops the baby monitor there instead and leaves the key to save them from having to get up. Thoughts please?? Am I terrible?

You will get slated for this. I left ds1 for a few minutes when he was asleep. tis very scorned upon. if not illegal. you probably know this already. no one will tell you its o.k. because deep in your heart you know its not.

Personally I would never do it. My DD is 2.8 and I would never personally leave her alone in the house. I myself will have a problem come september with being picked up while DD is sleeping but I would rather have someone in the house.

Hmm, maybe I could just say the baby monitor doesn't work!

too risky, doesnt sound a good idea @ all
if something somehow went wrong you would never forgive yourself

The problem is that baby monitors only pick up sound. What if there's a fire and first indication is the smell? Or a gas leak or something of the like? I really don't think it's worth it for ten minutes.

I didn't do it, I told them the baby monitor didnt work!! Thanks for your clarity :-D
