My 2 year old ds is well on his way to be dry day & night. He was obviously ready & clicked straight awy. Big problem with doing a number 2 though , he won't go on the toilet, in his nappy or on the potty. He is now very constipated - no poo since last Friday & grumpy & sad because of it. What can I do ???

Have you tried some fresh orange juice? That works with my dd if she is struggling.

Hi my son was holding on also if he is in pain you can go to the doctors he will give you some medicine to help him go. Its really good stuff and it has worked on my son

You could try encouragement using stickers or something (my constipated dd would sometimes do a poo on promise of a sticker). Thing is, if he is now constipated and thinks it will hurt to go, you need to make poo soft so it doesn't hurt when he does go.
GP will prescribe lactulose - that can work over a few days.
My dd need movicol paed prescribed by hospital dr. That was great as really got her moving! She now doesn't need laxatives at all as has got into a good habit of going.
It's vital that they don't get into a habit of holding on as it can lead to real problems.
