OU - Has anyone done "Y166 - Starting with Law"?

Have been thinking about doing an OU course for a while, and think that this might be a good starting point for me. Has anyone done it? Am concerned about the level of work involved as I have some health issues to balance up as well.

Any opinions / experiences would be helpful. TIA

Hi, I did Starting with Law and I'm now doing W100- An Introduction to Law. I really enjoyed it and it got me into the swing of how the whole OU system works. The course is roughly twelve weeks and isn't too demanding. You're given a small text book which teaches the very basics of general law and there are only three assignments all of which are essay questions of no more than 1000 words apiece. Essentially the 'Starting with' courses eases you back into studying so I would say, if you can - go for it. Good luck!

i have done the y116 and the further w100. i loved them. i didn't find them too difficult but if there are problems the support from tutors is great.

start with the y166, its not very demanding.

i love OU study. i did w100 whilst working full time and preg then having a baby and having new born. took it out of me but the sense of accomplishment was worth it. i have now used my previous ou study to get into full time university and start law in september. without the ou i would not have had the confidence to do it.

Im currently studying y166 and right now feel like a real dim as i cant get chapter 3 and chapter 5 right what acts and ref to insert. I need help as the deadline is before 17th march i need help desperatley.

Hi there mysterious/Leah... I too have started this course in September and at the moment am in the same situation as you were in March regarding the ema...can u perhaps advise me of how you got on...
