Never wake a sleeping baby?

Ds is 11 months old. He has never been a regular sleeper. At the moment I just let him sleep when he is tired for as long as he wants. Usually he has a longish one and a short one, but sometimes these are morning, midday and afternoon.

A friend this week said I should get him into more of a routine and should wake him after an hour in the morning. Does this sound right, or am I ok just to go with the flow?

I think they are all different. The whole short nap in the morning so that they have a longer one in the afternoon never worked for my DS. I personally found it much easier to go with the flow. It sounds like you are doing fine.

just go with the flow if it is working for you

I wouldn't wake them in the day, but if they go on too late in the afternoon and therefore affect their night sleep I do. Sounds like it's going okay for you, why change it? Ignore your friend.

As long as they are sleeping at night then I wouldnt worry about it at all - enjoy the peace!

Definitely go with the flow. She has probably swallowed Gina Ford's book and thinks it is the gospel.
