Newborn weeing for England overnight - Bumgenius issues

For the last two weeks or so my newborn has been wetting through his Bumgenius nappies overnight, at least every other night. (He's a big feeder and I have a big supply.) Occasionally it has been right through his sleeping bag, sheet, mattress cover, down to the waterproof sheet! We've tried using two newborn inserts, or the "big boy" inserts, so far to little avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or do I need to resign myself to waking a good sleeper twice in the night for a nappy change ? Or going over to disposables at night (which I don't want to do because they give him nappy rash)?

BGs would have no chance lasting overnight with my LO! I'd suggest you get 2 or 3 nappies for night time use. I use bamboozles (but love the new bamboozles stretchies!) with some fleece shorties or fleece pants. No leaks here!

if you have a mega wetter they arent going to cut the mustard overnight - you cold try a layer of hemp in them but i suspect a dedicated night nappy would be more in order.

I swore by bumgenius for my newborn but now at 12 weeks she just wets through them as shes a very heavy wetter. I now use a bedbug with a wrap, works much better

Thanks all. Any other suggestions for effective night nappies?
