Quilt for 11mo?

Ds is 11mo. We have always used sleeping bags, but now he can crawl/stand up they are dangerous- several times he has managed to tangle himself and crack his head on edge of cot. However this hasn't put him off trying to stand!

I have a thin quilt that someone gave me- is it ok to use even though he is a few weeks off 12months?

Can't see why not. I mean I know the guide lines are 12 months, but lets be real, if it's only a couple of weeks can it hurt?
In this weather do you not have any sheets or thin blankets/fleeces? - could be a transitional suggestion to get him used to not having the bag.

my boys are so active they just won't stay under blankets/sheets/quilts. i got one for ds1 when he started growing out of the sleeping bag at 18months and it was too thick, and he just doesn't stay under it! i do find ds2 - also 11months, sometimes settles better if tucked in really tight under a blanket but i get so frustrated tucking him in over and over again i've just given up for now!
what about a thicker sleepsuit/body suit/pyjamas and no blanket or sleeping bag?
