Baby bathtime blues

I was wondering if you had any ideas how to solve this:

in the bath with dd is great, I go in with her and she loves it. The way it works is I hand her out of bath to DP who does the drying/dressing bit.But about one minute after she is removed she screams and screams - this is the only time she really objects to anything.

We have tried:
-warming nappy/towel/babygro on radiator
-cuddling in towel for ages before dressing
-heating bathroom to sauna like temperatures and dressing her in there...

  • me doing the dressing/drying bit

Ideas/solutions please :-)

do you think she could be over tired or hungry?

It does not take much to knacker them at that age

TBH I think you have tried most things but how about feeding her straight away afterwards to calm her down?

Hi,

My ds used to do this. He would squeal and squeal the second whoever was getting him out picked him up. We realised that our hands were often chilly and warming them in the water first helped, but to be honest he just stopped as he got a bit bigger and there was no obvious reason why he was crying before and why he'd stopped. We often laugh about it now when we're getting him out of the bath.

Feeding as soon as possible is a good idea to calm her down. But I really wouldn't worry. She'll be doing something completely different in a couple of months. And it sounds like she's enjoying the bath, just not getting out. I know how she feels!

Good luck...
