Washing bright IttiBittis and BG?..

I am tempted to buy a couple of IttiBitti D'Lish and/ or Bumgenius in luscious colours but am daunted by the thought what turquoise or red would do to the rest of the nappies I've got (mostly white / natural) if I wash them together. If I give the bright coloured ones a few washes before the first use, would it be safe then to launder them in the same wash as white nappies, or the colour will run (and everything will become hopelessly grey)? I don't think I can justify doing a separate run just for 3-4 coloured ones; most baby clothes are light as well.

Thanks!

I have had an Itti bitti in every colour and Bumgenius in all but the fuschia and have never had a colour run. In fact the only nappy that has ever leaked colour was a red magic-all which needed a few washes with old teacloths first (and I was warned first on tag so ok)

Ive heard the zinnia BG does run for the first wash but i have deep purple, fushia and black ittis and none of then run

My BG V3 Zinnia and Moonbeam have both run a little bit, the velcro tabs have been dyed slightly instead of being white. They have never dyed any of my other nappies though, some pastels and some white and natural.

Thank you, this is helpful. So you do wash brightly coloured BG and Ittis with white nappies?

Yes I wash colours and whites all together. The only thing I do separate is embroidered nappies like Wee notions from velcro nappies as it can catch the threads. Sometimes I just turn them inside out if not pooey when I put them in the bucket.

You could wash it by hand? Not a lot of work with just one or two nappies.

I wash all mine together
Red, blk, purple itti's
White BG's

I have washed bright bg's and ittis and greenkids and allsorts together and an odd few white bg's and had no colour run. We were advised to advise custoemrs to wash zinnia seperate the first wash but never had any other complaints. Smile
