Sheets for travel cot?

The mattress of our travel cot has a water resistant type cover and I'm concerned that it's quite rough and will hurt DD's face.

The travel cot has velco straps to attach the mattress to the frame so I can't put a fitted sheet over the mattress.

Is the only answer to put a flat sheet just round the middle of the mattress? I'm concerned about it coming loose and am not sure about how easy it would be to safety pin on.

Thanks in advance

I use the fitted sheets that are the size of a cot-bed. Can get them in Mothercare, ToysRUs (spit) etc. They fit very well and are soft.

I just put a cot sheet around the mattress and don't bother with the velcro straps - I'm not sure what could happen anyway, the mattress is really stiff and heavy and no more likely to get bunched up than the mattress at home.

But if you're worried, why not get a cheap cot sheet and make some slits in it for the velcro, then just designate that the travel cot sheet? They only cost a pound or two.

Anyone advise on where I can get travel cot sheets with slits in for Velcro
