I am not dreading the holidays, but I am not very imaginative so I am not sure how to entertain my 4yo and 2yo!

Where to go on days out? (Can drive) or what to do if invite family (kids uncles etc). I am just totally clueless and would be grateful if people could tell me what is in their calendar.

I used to find it helped if I went with another mum with children of a similar age. With company, days out in large parks were fine (and free). Always take a picnic and a ball.

Don't know where you are living but around this age mine really enjoyed:

Miniature trains you can sit on and ride
Farms where you can see animals and ride on hay wagons (might be expensive, long time since I've been anywhere like that)
Always liked nature rambles (check they're not too challenging or long first - give them each a bag to collect their finds)

Thanks, will find some different parks to go to. Miniature trains sounds like my DS's idea of heaven so will have to search one out!
