What's been great about having children today?

I have just spent the last hour or so doing some online shopping (and skipping on and off here too ) whilst Dd (3y4m) has been playing in the livign area ont he floor with all her Happy Land tiyrs. She is in her own world entirely. the people are being moved about and are having conversations between themselves, and she is really into her game. I just have to keep stopping and watching and listening to her. She just makes me smile so much Mind you, I am sure I can hear myself in some of those conversations

We've had a really nice today - swimming and then lunch with Katzguk and her DDs, then some singing and dancing together when we got home and then she's been playing. No tantrums or strops today at all and it's been lovely.

What's been great about being a mum (or dad) for you today?

We have had a friend all day to play and we have made 24 beutifully made fairy cakes ready for the reat of the week, and of course some for the friend to take home. They have played really nicely all day, no arguing or tantrums and they are all tidying up the bedroom as I type. Have had a lovely day.

We went to the shops and had a look around the Early Learning Centre. I told ds1(4)he could choose a small toy, as long as it wasn't too expensive. The things he chose were too pricey, which I explained, so he said, "not to worry Mummy, I've got toys at home".

And we calmly walked out .

Noooo, am loving mother really. It has been very cute watching him play with his new Bob the Builder digger today (new obsession), and he put all his puzzle pieces away without having to be asked twice...

We woke up to a very rainy day today, so decided to stay in and have a PJ day, none of us are dressed and have no intention of putting on any clothes today.
It's a good chance to get realy messy, we've painted, made chocolate cake and pancakes with chocolate sauce.
In between the boys have played imaginery games together, and we've watched some TV.
But the best thing is I've had loads of cuddles and kisses.

Bedtime will be the good bit of today here too.

Although watching Freaky Friday with the Dd's was quite good too.

I took DD walking outside for the first time today, she had her new shoes on and looked so cute, the bumpy grass was a challenge and she had a fair few falls.

She then learned how to push the little girl upstairs toy buggy although she kept throwing the doll out of it when I put it in (hope she grows out of it before no2 is born).

Despite bad times today. My DS has learnt to pull himself up and thinks it is hilarious that he can stand and has been laughing out loud!

Mytwopenceworth · 22/08/2005 19:21

ds1 did a poo in the potty instead of up the walls. In my life, that is cause for celebration!!

Heathcliffscathy · 22/08/2005 19:22

m2pw: that is a cause for celebration in anyone's world!!!

hunkermunker · 22/08/2005 19:34

DS learnt the word "nappy" today and now pats his when I ask him where it is - and he also learnt to "mooooooo" when I ask him what a cow says

nailpolish · 22/08/2005 19:38
