I know this has probably been discussed many times before, but what time do your kids go to bed?

My dd's 8 and 6 are normally in bed on school days by 7.30pm although quite often read in bed or listen to audio cd stories until 8pm or later.

eldest dd has recently been complaining that everyone in her class goes to bed later than her and she is ridiculed as she goes to bed so early, but I think that she needs a good 10+ hours sleep. whilst I appreciate all children are different, am I putting her to bed too early?

both of them wake between 6.30pm and 7.00pm.

8y DD

school night- approx 8pm-8:30pm depending on activities after school. If 8pm, she reads for a while.

non school night - from 8pm onwards depending on what we are doing. She will then usually sleep for approx 11 hours.

My Dd is 6 and goes to bed between 7 and 8pm.
At weekends she is allowed to watch a DVD in our room first so it is later then.

Mine is 8 in a couple of weeks (will be Yr4 when they go back in Sept) and is another one of those who needs a fair amount of sleep.

Bedtimes are....

School night - anywhere between 7.30 - 8pm. Lights off, no reading etc. Usually asleep by 8.30. She gets up at 6.45am

Weekends - on average around 9 - 9.30pm, she wakes around 8 - 8.30am.

DS (nearly 8) goes to bed at 7.30pm, has short story then reads on his own, lights out about 8pm. Needs at least 10 hours sleep, ideally 11.

my 6yo twins go to bed around 7pm and are awake by 7am, on a school day. They would like to go later and have asked to, but when we tried it ended in tear!

ds1 is 7 (be 8 in Sep).
He goes around 8.30pm, after I have got ds2 to bed. I generally read or play game or talk and then leave at around 9pm.
I would say he goes to sleep around 9.30pm, although sometimes he goes straight off, and other times it can be after 10pm before he is asleep.

He wakes up around 7am.

DD aged 6 goes to bed at 8.30pm but rarely if ever is asleep before 9.30pm. She is always wide awake and ready to go at 7.30am. I worry that she should be getting more sleep, but it doesn't seem to affect her and she is really isn't sleepy when she goes to bed despite a good routine of quiet time, bath, story, warm milk.

My 8 and 5 year old go to bed at about 8.30pm. The younger goes to sleep quickly. The older lies awake for hours and if he's asleep by 10pm that's an early night! Both wake up at 7.30am on school days. I do worry that my eldest doesn't get enough sleep, but while I can put him to bed I can't force him to go to sleep.
