Cotton wool or wipes?

DD is 6 months. We always use cotton wool and water to clean her bottom apart from when we're out and about when we use wipes.

Is cotton wool a lot better to use than wipes? We are a bit worried about the chemicals Anyone had problems with wipes?

I ask because currently her changing table is upstairs, so she gets carried up and down the stairs whenever she needs a change, and I would like to set up a mini-changing mat downstairs as I worry a little about dropping her when on the stairs. Wipes would be more practical for this. Her bottom would still be cleaned using water twice a day (morning and nighttime).

TIA

I used wipes in the hospital from birth. I did sometimes use cotton pads and water at home but wipes were always more convenient. Neither of my lo's were affected by them.

Well done for persevering this far. If you are this dedicated you might find 'make your own wipes' more palletable than disposable wipes.

Try this website for 48hr delivery approx. You can just carry a water sprayer like a cheap one from boots and spray the wipe then bag and wash with your regular laundry. Use the nappy to wipe off the wort of the poop. You can also get smaller plastic boxes, simiar to the one you got free when DD was born from Pampers and keep say 6 lightly soaked in water and tea tree oil. Check out the reuseable nappy boards for extra info.
NB: I am not this dedicated and used Johnsons fragrance free from 2-weeks old, my son has severe ezcema and is on strong steroids at the moment, but his bum seems to be fine with disposable wipes and Waitrose Bottom Butter.
Good Luck.

I use washable wipes at home and huggies pure out and about. I found a brand that didn't irritate DD and stuck with it.
