Can anyone with experience of this age gap tell me what it was / is like please?

There is 3.4 between my 2 boys and at the start it was great as ds1 was potty trained and was at pre school 5 mornings a week which was a god send as ds2 had very bad colic
It then got a bit difficult between 1-2 years as they couldn't play together as ds2 would take ds1 toys and ds1 had no interest in his brother at all.
The boys are now 5.10 and 2.6 yrs and really play well obv they still have different interests due to age but as the younger one gets older they are starting to be less ..
I think overall its a very good age gap for sanity which to me was very important

Yep, definitely agree, for sanity I have 3yrs 8mths between dd1 and dd2 and 3yrs 6mths between dd2 and ds. Can get difficult juggling very different ages, dd1 is now 8 and I'm trying to do homework with her whilst stopping 1yr old ds from emptying out cupboards and generally causing mayhem But I never wanted more than 1 in nappies at a time and is it nice to have the older ones fairly independent, & they both adore their brother and play and entertain him really nicely, most of the time!

I have this age gap between my 2 youngest and it's fine so far! The baby IS only 5 weeks old though so there's time for it all to go tits up. The eldest is fairly independent - can go to the loo by himself, get dressed with minimal help, put his own shoes on etc and can be reasoned with. I'm enjoying this gap much more than I enjoyed the 2 year age gap between my eldest child and DS.

I have 4.5 years and that is brilliant too!

thanks for the replies.

There should be 3y 8/9m between them all being well.

Am just getting nervous!

Don't worry all will be well x

I have two years and ten months between my elder two and just over 4 years between DS2 & 3. I don't have any problems with the age gaps and all three get on fairly well so far. The older two have quite a lot in common (Star Wars!) I think you can make any age gap work for you.
