My son has severe ezcema so we are cloth converts and loving them. I use terrys as a back up, I use the Maria-fold for boys with a folded up prefold nappy and a nappy nippa under a motherease wrap. Look the various parts of that combination up on the Internet and you'll see where I'm coming from. I also have a number of shaped nappies, bumbles pockets for night and a close parent pop-in for crèche be ause it's not hard for them to understand.
Www.thenappylady.co.uk is a good site for explanations and videos explaining all the nappies. Go real is another website with lots of info and local suppliers lists.
Boots do sell a booster to go in their Terry nappies but only on the website.
Good luck, it's an addictive world once you enter the seductive world of cloth nappies. So many nappy styles and so little time before potty training!

I have to say I looked and even tried lots of diiferent types of nappies when dd (now 9) was little. Pesonally you can't beat plain old terry squares with a good wrap, I used motherease. Terry squares are very cheap, easy to wash dry very fast and grow with your child.

The only down side is learning the folds but thats not hard. Try different folds and stick with the one which works best for you. Over the time of dd been in nappies I used the the bat fold most plus a few others. Once you folded the nappy a few time you will be amazed how fast you get. Several other waysto fold a nappy.

Almost forgot nappi nippas so easy then safer then safety pins.

I second flat terries with nappy nippers. The first nippers we got of ebay were fake and rubbish, the second lot fantastic! Terries dry so quickly, and are generally usefull for mopping up etc. We give our little one nappy free time and lay him on them instead.

Boots plastic pants to go over the top are dirt cheep and washable (mothercare ones don't wash).

Someone lent us some prefolded ones, which are conveniet, but obviously more expensive, plus you will need different sizes unlike terries. Though they would prob still work out cheeper than disposables...haven't done the maths. Terries are a little more work than the pre folds, mainly because of getting the waterproof pant on over the terry, so if this would be a pita to might be better off paying more for prefolds...rather than giving up!
