How do I extend my safety gate and stop DS going in the fridge?

Does anyone have a Baby Dan stair gate? We bought the Premier Pressure gate plus 4 extensions and were happy with it when DD was little. We have since had kitchen redesigned, so the gap into the kitchen is now 120cm wide. The safety gate's manual says you can have a max of 6 extensions so we bought 6.

However there is no way of putting all 6 extensions on the gate, as the metal poles that come with the extensions are only suitable for 2 extensions per side of the gate. Am I missing something? Has anyone figured this out, or is there an additional accessory I need to buy? Any help much appreciated as DS likes to go in the fridge and pour milk on the floor, so I could do with keeping him out of the kitchen.

you could just buy a fridge lock? lol

i never got on with gates with multiple extensions as they seem a bit wobbly where they join

could you use something like the playpen from babydan that can be used as a room divider too?

I did wonder about the fridge lock, but I'm concerned I'll fall over him while I'm cooking or carrying something. The babydan playpen looks like an option, except it screws on to the walls, and we have a breakfast bar at one side not a wall so I'm not sure if it will work. I'll do a bit more research on this though. Thanks.
