They wait until your kid is having a temper tantrum then say "Oh mine never behaves like that"

or yours is having a fly swig at your coke when in a cafe and they say "mine never has fizzy drinks"

or when yours is playing with the toy they got in McDonalds they say "I've never taken mine to McDonalds and the oldest is 6".............

WHERE DO THEY GET OFF????

God I hate the whole mum scene/ am so bad at it that I have got myself a part time job so that three times a week I can talk to "normal" people..

The Boden thing, I think, is really expensive, average looking clothes. For people who will not buy clothes from Asda, because they wouldn't be seen dead in there.

lol at you Colditz - I have a so called friend who bangs on about bowden and told another friend 'she would be too embarassed to shop at Asda or admit it ' when my other friend told her she was going to shop at Asda.

It a bit fogeyish this boden isnt it, kind of like yesteryear clarks for clothing.

Asda do very nice clothes! I buy plenty there. (Also spend a lot in Boden so go figure!)

Donbean I'm with you on the fizzy drinks just because I think they cause a lot of problems other than teeth rot. And again my dst don't eat chocolate because - ahem - I ate it all!!!! Only kidding, they get sweeties and chocs, everything in moderation. I don't give Fruit Shoots though because that level of hyper is too much!

I always imagine these smug mothers to be sitting alone at home surrounded by mess and screaming kids while sobbing hysterically. Then putting on a front and going out in her Boden clothing to sneer at others!

Again, just joking about the Boden clothing thing so no shooting down in flames of TIBS please! Labels in this house read George or Cherokee so am jealous of anyone able to spend money on themselves.

I'm really lucky - the only other mums I bother with are really down to earth and don't indulge in this " my kid never does that" thing. Maybe I just avoid the ones that do. All our kids have a bit of junk, watch a bit of TV, have massive tamtrums, are whingy......pretty normal I say. And your'e right, i would never comment on anyones parenting so I wouldn't expect them to comment on mine.

I've noticed that the smuggest mothers have the worst behaved children, is it because they've inherited the lack-of-social-skills gene or is it because the smug mums are too busy tidying up/ironing nappies/sourcing wooden toys and organic real lemonade to teach their kids any manners?
