Advice wanted - Lollipop Pop n grow?

First baby due end August, want to use washable nappies. DP and I went to see the local cloth nappy seller who talked us through the options and seemed particularly in favour of the Lollipop Pop N Grow birth to potty range. They seem simple and straightforward, and so we've gone for them. The nappy seller lady does a special on buying 20 and suggests that you use 5 a day and then wash after the third day - but friends of mine suggest that newborn babies use considerably more than 5 a day, particularly breastfed ones (I'd like to bf though am aware it's not necessarily straightforward!).

So - anyone else using Lollipop Pop N Grows? and got views on how many of them a newborn is likely to get through in a day?

Many thanks in advance!

Yes newborns will use more than 5 a day to start with so you will need to wash every other day rather than every 3 days. But within a oouple of weeks it will have settled down to less and you'll be getting to wash after the 3rd day. Most nappysystems / nappy sellers will recommend 20 - anything mre than tht won't fit i yor wasing machine anyway! Also remember that if your baby hawoken in the night for a feed thendon't change his / er nappy unless it's actually got a poo in it - you want to get the baby back to sleep as quickly as poss i the night.

Hi Sal - it was you we were talking to on Sat! And then friends of mine suggested that newborns, particularly bf ones, use quite a bit more than 5 nappies a day - though it sounds like one option is to wash more frequently (and another is to use some disposables for convenience).

What a coincidence!! I can go over everthing again if there's anything that you stll want to know. Plus I always say to people when they buy their nappies from me that they must phone me if they're having any problems or got any questions as I obvioulsy want it o be as easy as possible and successful for people.
