I've pretty much tried them all and my favourite nappy is bumgenius V3 (they are currently on sale in many online shops as they've just brought out a new version 4)they are a pocket nappy so they have an insert you put into a pocket at the back to absorb wee and a staydry layer inside to keep baby dry. They have a waterproof outer so no wrap required.

There are cuter nappies out there but these are best for beginners and they fit from birth to 35lb so potty training. They fasten with velcro so even dads/ MILs can use them and contain even breasfed poop explosions well.

I also use Little lamb bamboo nappies with a wrap at night and totsbots stretch - they also need a separate wrap.

My top tip would be to buy a couple of each type you like before you buy a lot of one particular nappy. Check out cloth nappy tree they have reviews and new and used nappies for sale on there.

Also best not to get bambino mio or smart nappy as they don't get good reviews and some people give up after a short while due to leaks etc.

ok thanks i quite like the totsbots..although confused as seem so many diff ones

although i have found some packs of new size1 5 for 8.50 they are the ones you use with nappi nippas..apparently a real bargin but wud need to get wraps etc.

would i be better to go straight 4 birth to potty?? intially more expensive! Or go for the ones ive found as a start and hope they last a while?

Also have a 24mth dd..could i use the birth to potty for both or is this not practical?

Do you have a Lollipop rep near you? I had a lovely one to visit & she showed me all the types they currently sell - I knew which ones I wanted the minute I saw them in reality (as online was just confusing me). Went for Eenies in the end, though they are (unhelpfully for you) currently only available online from Australia. Good luck

totsbots bamboozle stretchies are fabby - I use with motherease airflow wraps and after trying many nappies this is my favourite. I quite like the bumgenius v3 too, but I find these more prone to leaking than the totsbots combo - but that said they are more user friendly for the nursery than having to use a fitted nappy and cover for the totsbots, so I have a selection of both.
