I mostly just post on April 2004 post natal thread but lurk around the rest of the site. Today whilst lurking I had a look at the April 2005 babies thread for nostalgic reasons! And this comment made me feel really sad as I felt exactly like this a year ago and often still do which is why I stick to just the one thread.
This is the comment "I saw a thread on here about early weaning recently and the mums who wanted to or had weaned at four months were really slated. I hardly ever post on the other threads as it seems to so often turn into snipey criticism. Seems a real shame that such an incerdibly useful site can sometimes bring out the worst in people. Tend to just look things up in the archives when theres something I want a bit of advice or info on!"
I'm not posting this to start a huge dispute but just to point out that this site might be off putting to some new people. Hope you don't think I'm out or order saying that

snurk moondog .

... pedants, illiterate scum

(obviously ommitted by accident)

expatinscotland · 18/08/2005 21:51

She's been busy being a secret shopper for Boden .

JoolsToo · 18/08/2005 21:52

I've tried to cut down moondog but went to 'meet' yesterday and have caught the bug again!

moondog · 18/08/2005 21:54

What do you all do at a 'meet' then?

JoolsToo · 18/08/2005 21:56

we were at Brockhole - GDG came and dgs's so we chatted, kids played and generally had a very nice afternoon in the sunshine - met some lovely people.

where were you?

katierocket · 18/08/2005 21:56

can I just wade in and say I so agree with la Twig. The whole reason MN is interesting and valuable is precisely because you get differing opinions. After 4 years or so you just get thicker skinned...

grapes anyone?

moondog · 18/08/2005 22:00

Where was I? The mountains of eastern Turkey, that's where!
Do you tell people who you are, wear little badges or what? Do you meet people in RL that you don't thnk much of in RL or viceversa?
Does one particular person do the organising?

(Enough already with the questions MD! Can you tell I haven't been out much?)

JoolsToo · 18/08/2005 22:03

Turkey! I thought you were Welsh !

you couldn't make it them?

No badges - though they would have been useful as lilibet was stood on her own for 15 mins at the next picnic table to us not knowing who we were

It was my first meet, there were only 7 of us and all were lovely - no-one I'd argued with turned up

moondog · 18/08/2005 22:12

I am (but I live in Turkey most of the year.) Not many Mners lurking by the Iranian border.)
