How do you calm down/relax/unwind?

Stressed out, the house is a mess, dinner needs cooking, dd has only just gone to bed and I am knackered! Not to mention the pile of ironing and washing

Weekend gardening! (Only work part-time though)

Mascara,

Get a cleaning lady, or at least an ironing lady. Coming home one day a week to a completely clean house is wonderful.

And you get fun, trying to work out where she's tidied your things to .

Gillian76 · 18/08/2005 19:59

I dream about a cleaning lady... How much would I pay for one? (per hour?)

Aragon · 18/08/2005 20:01

Mumsnet is good although I try hard to stay away from anything too contentious (don't always manage this though).

and

SWIMMING. I love it. I go latish in the evening when the pool is half empty. I take my time. I do 50 lengths and put the world to rights in my head while I do so.

Whizzz · 18/08/2005 20:03

Mumsnet or make cards !!

And the odd glass of white wine !

Easy · 18/08/2005 20:04

Budget about £5 per hour. Probably more in London I guess.

My lady is wonderful. Try a small ad in your local paper, or post office. Make sure you know where she lives (offer to drop round with a letter when you offer her the job), and ask for references from someone she has worked for (again with an address you can visit, or a landline phone number you can ring).

I've decided not to do anything tonight. The house is a mess but I've promised myself if i do nothing tonight I will have a blitz at the weekend.
