There you go, new thread so as not to upset people who don't want to talk about charity! Sorry but I got very upset that someone thought I was being arrogant in asking them to have a look at the Terri thread. It seems that no matter what you try to do sometimes, someone will find an excuse to have a go at you.

Thank you Doormat for getting in touch, it was worth hijacking M2T's thread just for that!

Seriously though, can anyone tell me what harm I did in diverting that particular thread with a link to the Terri thread? Maybe it's my pregnancy hormones but I am shocked that people could be so nasty when I'm trying to raise money for that little girl. No, I'm no Saint Teresa and I hope I don't come across that way, but I do tend to get enthusiastic about a project I have taken on and I do want to see it succeed. Ah well, to hell with it, there are bigger problems out there than stupid cyber-related ones. Getting upset by people you've never even met really takes the biscuit I suppose! All I can say is get to know me before you pass comment....

Oh and if anyone does want to know how to help Terri, the little girl with 90% burns to her body, email me at [email protected] and I'll be happy to pass on details of what you can do to help.

Guess its my pregnancy hormones as well so here goes.

What you are doing is amazing and something to be proud of, I don't think for one moment anyone will begrudge you of that.

You raised it on a thread where tempers and emotions were running high, it is obvious to even blind freddy that you and M2T don't get on. (For the record yet again, I do not know M2T), so maybe that was the wrong thread to start that on.

Your comment and I quote "All I can say is get to know me before you pass comment....", the same could be said for the way you have spoken about people on here.

Once again I think it is brilliant what you are doing. and I do hope that this won't turn into one of those threads, but I have a feeling it will.

Good luck Rhubarb, it is lovely what you are doing Bouncy, i have that feeling too ......

SoupDragon · 17/07/2003 17:25

Rhubarb, it was because people were trying to let that thread die off and it was (I thought) finally dead. It wasn't a diversion, more a resurrection

I certainly had no problem with what you were posting, just where.

Rhubarb · 18/07/2003 11:20

Fair enough, although I would like to point out that I didn't resurrect the thread, someone else asking for an apology, so I thought a diversion would be a good tactic. As it happens I have been contacted by another member asking what she can do to help, so it was worthwhile.
I wouldn't have a go at M2T, nor was that my intention. I know full well that she and I do not get on so I avoid her threads at all costs. Nor would I do anything that would jeopardise the charity work Rob Mather is doing for Terri - it is he who is truly working miracles for her, I just said I would help.

But thank you for being so honest with me, I realise now that maybe it wasn't such a good idea trying to divert such a sore topic. However I cannot regret the one member who has contacted me because of it, so I guess some good has come out of it after all!

Watched the dvd about terri (the little girl with the 90% burns) and may I say it really is a wothwhile cause.
If you are interested in helping her just contact rhubarb or rob mather.
just a phone call to your local leisure centre can hopefully make a difference to this brave little girls life

Rhubarb · 30/07/2003 15:09

Rob Mather can send FREE vids or DVDs of the documentary made about Terri, should anyone have missed it first time round. Word of warning though - get those tissues handy! Follow the link in my previous email to contact Rob.
