Hello - wasn't sure where to post this really but just trying to get some good and original ideas for a pretty vague essay title of 'My Life'.
DH has to write it before the end of June before he starts a year's course for work.
I suggested it should be humorous, not just bla bla bla and then I was born and then I went to school etc.
DH said that some people do clver ones but I said it he needed a good original idea as perhaps some would be a bit twee. He said someone once wrote his as a eulogy. Not quite sure how he did that but appaarently it was marked highly.

I said (DH is in the forces), he should start off by describing how he sent off his little parachute men from his bedroom window, along a zip wire, whilst on fire, into the garden below and narly set fire to the washingline and how that childhood game may have shaped his future career! He's usually quite a straight person when doing anything academic but I was telling him he needed to write something a bit witty that would make the tutor remember him.

personally i would pick a few memories from different ages, for example the first memory he can remember, just a few random memories throughout his life , maybe when he first rode a bike and then put something like how determined he was. it wouldnt need to be anything amazing, could just be the first time he was told off by a teacher etc or the day he met you, and why they stuck in his mind,
maybe it was just someone on a train but the conversation led him to do something else, i think i would give detailed glimpses of my life rather than the usual, born, went to school, went to uni, got married, had a child sort of story,

Could do it as a letter to someone he's not seen in many years

or how his childhood self might have thought of his adult life

or could write about his life flashing before his eyes as if he had a near-death experience

or it could be in the format of someone interviewing him
