HELP! Split milk on carpet...

Anyone know how to get rid of the smell of split milk on the carpet? ds1 managed to tip a whole glass of milk onto ds2's room carpet several days ago. have tried vanish, soaking it in water, fairy liquid but the smell of sour milk is getting worse and worse each day. please....? anyone?

Sprinkle it with bicarb of soda and leave it for a day then vacuum the next day et voila!!

I don't know if this does work but try sprinkling bicarbonate of soda on it - I think it's supposed to absorb but don't know if it works on dried in stuff.....it's worth a try!
