Nasty letter on car

Returned from a carboot sale today to find a letter under my windscreen wiper thanking me for damaging someone's car and saying they had taken my reg and would report it to the police.

Am really confused as I was parked legally and with room in front and behind me, had no damage whatsoever to my car and certainly had not scraped or bumped anyone elses car. Have reported it to the police but they said wait for a letter through the post, am really worried now about what's going to happen.

I wouldn't worry, if you haven't struck another vehicle, then you have nothing to worry about.

If someone feels aggrieved then let them prove it to the insurance companies.

Just bothers me as my car is a distinctive colour and this person has my registration. Really ruined an otherwise lovely day! Thanks for the reassurance though

if you haven't done anything wrong then try not to worry!!!

they can't do anything without some sort of evidence, and if your car is totally undamaged etc etc then i think they would be laughed out of the police station tbh!
