I don't know if any one has had this problem but just lately i have had trouble with my 5 month old girl going to sleep during the day. She gets tired after about 2 hours of being awake and i lay her awake in the cot. She falls to sleep by herself but lately she has been waking up before she has had enough sleep. This leaves her miserable and by the next sleep she is over tired and wont settle. By the night time she is over excited and hyper. By the time bed time comes she is exhausted and i lay her in the cot. After 5 mins she goes hysterical and nothing will calm her until i pick her up. This is only a recent problem and i cannot solve it. She wont sleep in her buggy so when i take her out she is awake all day and again over tired at night. Can anyone suggest anything?

Hmm, how about putting a little stereo in her nursery and playing soothing classical music, the CD should go on long enough for it to still be on when she wakes up for the 1st time. Also how about giving her a bit of milk just before she goes down so she has a nice full tummy?

Do you have a "birthing ball". I never got round to using mine in labour, but find sitting on it and gently bouncing up and down will always get dd off to sleep when she is overtired
