Magic tricks

I am planning ds2s party and dh will do some juggling for our guests - Id rather like him to do some magic tricks too - any good books anyone can recommend?

Can he make children disappear?

Don't know a book but I can tell you a trick that my father did at all my parties that amused us when we were kids.

Tell the children that you need their help to do a magic trick. They need to think of a famous name, like Harry Potter. Stear them to a name that you have chosen in advance. Write the name of a bit of paper and tell them that you are going to magic it onto your arm. Burn the paper, cautioning them that they must never do this themselves, and keep the ash which you rub into your arm while you say the magic word.

And as if by magic the writing is formed on your arm in ash.

The trick? You 'write' the word in soft soap on your arm before you start. The ash sticks to the soap and spells out the word.

I loved it as a kid and in the end Dad let me into the secret.
