I am in process of arranging to exercise a horse (Welsh Section D) a few times a week for someone, my way of getting exercise, fresh air and some peace.

However he has double reins which I have never used before....whats the techinque?

aah hope this one wroks out eve. I have three horses (one out on loan) and i have a sharer for one of them. It works out well as we both have children, but do make agreements first regarding insurance, days to ride, financial cost etc.

it all working out wonderfully, the horse is great and i get on very well with the owner.

We have agreement on the days I ride, I go out with her sometimes on hacks.

Its wonderful riding in the forest, miles to gallop along with no traffic.

Sunny is a 16h chestnut, and if kept at the owners yard, I ride 4 times a week, and pay her £25 a week to cover costs, but she does all the feeding mucking etc, though I help occasionally. I also have taken out rider insurance with pet plan to cover the cost of injury to the horse in case he is injured whilst I am riding.

Best place to look in either in local tack supply place for notices, or on horse riding websites.

You can also keep an eye on www.horseweb-uk.com as there are often adverts for loans, shares or work for rides. Most of them seem to be people wanting help with their horses rather than looking for rides so worth a try.

Also lots of gorgeous horses for sale so you can have a drool!
