We had torrential rain from about 5am to on and off about 3pm . There was a trombia d'aria in mare off Lido and I believe Padova was bad as well Then it rained steadily until about 5 and again later. Today it was not that heavy..Can you re schedule ds party some day this week?
We got another invite for a party thursday ( not the one we were not invited to ) I thought we were done with feste but not so . I like the genitori however and shopping for girls I find easier at party present prices !!! A gormito is Eu28 and Ben 10 15 !!!

Francagoestohollywood · 21/06/2010 14:14

I was thinking to invite some of his friends for pizza one of these evenings!

I usually buy books (10 to 12 euros), or those lego bionics are 9.99 euros all'esselunga!

OP posts:
Rosa · 21/06/2010 14:21

I only have a dimetra and for boys from 6-9 they don't seem to have much to be honest. When I go on the mainland I normally stock up in bulk for all sexes and then produce tmy jhj byugfv ( minirosa) when needed. I only have 1 Hello Kitty necklace left !!!!!

Sputnik · 21/06/2010 17:01

I am a books or lego person too, the other day I got away with 6.90 for a lego spider creature thingy. Child was very pleased with it from the look on his face. (Not that I'm tight or anything). Buying in bulk definitely a god idea.

Francagoestohollywood · 21/06/2010 20:30

I've no ideas for ds (his birthday is actually on the 4th).

He is just into bl* football. I want to break the habit, I was thinking of getting him some lego city

OP posts:
Sputnik · 21/06/2010 20:34

A child can't have too much lego IMO. Or playmobil, come to that.

Francagoestohollywood · 21/06/2010 20:40

I agree!

LaRagazzaInglese · 21/06/2010 22:20

Can I ask you people a question that you don't have answer if you don't want to?
I am pg and don't know the sex yet, have chosen a boys name but having a hard time with girls names.
Do you have English names or Italian names for your DDs and do you mind telling me what they are? (obv don't have to) just curious for inspiration TIA

Francagoestohollywood · 22/06/2010 11:24

Both ds and dd have Italian names, but that's because both me and dh are Italian (we were in the UK when ours were born).
Ooooh can I whisper it in your ears Laragazza????

OP posts:
porcamiseria · 22/06/2010 13:32

Franca I through you'd be on here!

sorry to hijack but how upsetting is that thread we have been? Its just really upset me, that poor woman and some of the twattish answers. desperately sad. time to turn off my PC I think.. never has a thread upset me so much .....

sorry again lovely Italian ladies!!!!! ciao

laragazzi, I'll tell you a secret if we have a girl she will be Alessandra, Italian all the way baby!!!!

Francagoestohollywood · 22/06/2010 13:40

Yes, very upsetting. Thanks goodness you were eloquent enough in your post, well done. I can't believe some people were putting themselves, their comfort zone in the first place in their answers.

How are you pm? Have dh and ds already had their holiday in italy?

OP posts:
porcamiseria · 22/06/2010 13:51

si si they did, all fine. I had 2 weeks to myself, enjoyed it ALOT!!!!! I did miss Italy tho, Greece is NOT the same!

How are things with you? In England its budget cut today, whoo hoo. next year no more CTC or nice little govt handouts, fair enough I spose

Francagoestohollywood · 22/06/2010 13:58

Ah, good to hear all went well

We are doing ok, thank you. Bracing ourself for the heatwave, that will arrive sooner or later.
Yes, budget cuts. Here in Italy we are witnessing the indiscriminate cuts in the state school sector

Ragazza - I am british and dh is Italian and we live in Italy we have 2 dd 1 with a name that is the same in both languages but it is spelt the english way. Then dd2 ( minirosa) her name is British but easy to say in Italian. They both have second names that are pretty british and no joke we chose them for the significance in our lives they have both hit the tops of the poles in the Uk !!!!
As for Lego as soon as minirosa stops eating it when we get it out we will get more...DH and I race to play with it with dd1 !!!!
NOw what was that thread that drove you both mad .... waves at porcamiseria I do so love your name !

Francagoestohollywood · 22/06/2010 20:42

Hello, can I boast a bit and tell you that ds had a wonderful pagella??? 6 ten (matematica, inglese, scienze, storia, geografia and musica), 3 nine (italiano, tecnologia and ginnastica) and 1 eight (disegno, he is not very good at drawing)

the thread

OP posts:
Sputnik · 22/06/2010 22:28

Oh bravo your DS
I am having kind of a proud mummy day too as speech therapist said she is really pleased with DS's progress

Ragazza, my DD has an Arabic name (DH is Arabic) which is easily pronouncable in Italian and quite well known in UK these days. DS has one of those pan-european Greek type names, not popular in Italy and not easily pronounced in Italian but stuff it we liked it. Its shortened form which we use all the time has an Italian equivalent which is very nice too, and he responds to that from Italians.

Francagoestohollywood · 22/06/2010 22:31

Awwww, evviva Sputnik

OP posts:
BananaGio · 23/06/2010 07:04

well done DS's Sput and Franca. Ragazza my ds has an Italian name but the shortened version is both English and Italian.
Porcamiseria and Franca-had a glance at that thread. WFT. Some people have serious issues methinks.Twattish answers indeed.
Hurrah the sun's out. Bloody shit couple of days we have had.

Francagoestohollywood · 23/06/2010 11:07

Ciao Gio!

We've had the ideal weather for the last 3 days. Sunny, warm with a cool breeze, still need a light blanket at night! I don't dare looking at the forecast, dreading more rain or, even worse, the mega caldo.

Rosa, are you getting ready for the beach?

We've decided to take the dc to le marche at the beginning of July. They'll stay with my mum and aunt for a week, and then I'll join them. Dh apparently needs an operation to take out 2 wisdom teeth, and it has to be done on GA. He is not pleased, as it also needs to be performed asap. uff.

OP posts:
Rosa · 24/06/2010 13:31

Nearly done ..been racing rounds with permits, keys , builders etc etc etc Blimey this country !Think either dh or I will be popping back a couple of times a week me thinks !
The car is packed just need last few things to take with us and we have another festa this pm so I am trying to get as much done as I can.
Le Marche how lovely I love that part of the country .
Sorry for your dh I had all 4 wisdom teeth out under GA - I diddn't bloat up but the GA knocked me for 6 for a good few days !

Francagoestohollywood · 24/06/2010 14:52

So are you off rosa??? Have a lovely time and keep in touch!

Yes, I had all my 4 teeth out under GA, but I was 22, I recovered very quickly!

OP posts:
Penthesileia · 24/06/2010 14:54

Ciao my loves. Hope you are all well.

porcamiseria · 24/06/2010 14:56

franca he is better off having GA, I have had both and with local the dentist almost has their knee on your chest as they yank them out and you can feel the crunch and noo....trust me GA is better

on that thread, there was this terrible rawly greiving woman and people just gave these prim shitty little "YABU they are not bitches", like they did not even have the imagination? ugh made me soooo angry

Penthesileia · 24/06/2010 14:56

Anyone watching the football? DH is very worried that if Italy do well it will help Berlusconi!

Penthesileia · 24/06/2010 14:58

I agree, porca (lol at typing that). That thread was very ugly.
