Oh wow Rosa, you are making lots of progress already with the house!
I like the bathroom, and veneta cucine are really nice, vero?

OP posts:
Rosa · 14/05/2010 14:32

I liked Veneta Cucine - we will be getting it from the SME . I felt I was making good prgress but I can see ts going to be mainly me doing all this. I have become an expert on parquet and it seems that we need to go a bit upmarket eg not Castorama for it so I have been trying to source it - but again I need to go and hunt it out. I suggested to dh that we go back to the tile/ bathroom place so he can have a look but we have to fix an appointment for preventivi - I don't think they are caro but prices are not listed like the big places. My scare is that fine Giugno we are 'al mare' then I am via in Agosto and then what happens if we can't order them in time? My feeling is we need to look and decide then when the time is right order! .....Men !

Francagoestohollywood · 14/05/2010 18:02

Yes, my advise would deff to get a good quality parquet, first of all because it needs to be resistant etc and also because you have it on sight all the time!

Lots of shops are doing sconti on tiles at the moment, they'll tell you when you ask for a preventivo.

love the tiles Rosa. It must be so exciting doing everything from scratch after you have been looking so long.
See that Draquila getting good response at Cannes- is it out in Italy yet? Anyone seen it?

Francagoestohollywood · 17/05/2010 09:27

Hello Gio!
Yes, Draquila is def out here in Milan, so it's probably out in Rome too! I'd like to see it.
Me and dh went out on Friday (hadn't been out together for more than 2 months) but went to a fab chinese restaurant with friends.

Cinema....How lovely last time I went i was pg with dd1 ....No I lie I went to see Mamma Mia in the Uk when pg with minirosa - we booked an aisle seat so I could rush to the loo. I laughed so much I had to as well ! Thankfully there were speakers in the loo so you never missed a thing !
NIce day here today - finally!
Update on no paraben /SlS in things : Io bimbo do a range now its French and shampoo smells nice. Garnier do a deodorant about Euro 3 its not that bad either. NOt sure how it will cope with big heat though. The Vichy range is not expensive and the body cream is quite good...SO all in all not doing too bad about eliminating the nasties. Tha is until they scare us with something else!

Francagoestohollywood · 17/05/2010 13:44

"Tha is until they scare us with something else!" Indeed Rosa!

Oh I wish I could go to the cinema as often as I used to. We didn't do that badly this year, I think we went 5 times since september...

OP posts:
Sputnik · 17/05/2010 14:11

I haven't been since pg with DD either. I used to go once or twice a week when I was 18. I am an expert on obscure films of the mid 80's

Francagoestohollywood · 17/05/2010 16:30

I remember that we went to see LOTR when I was pg with ds... it was a nightmare, soooo long and I needed to pee all the time!

OP posts:
Sputnik · 17/05/2010 21:38

Ha, that was in fact what I saw when pg with DD, but part 3 rather than, I guess, part 1. Luckily I was only a bit pg at the time.

Francagoestohollywood · 18/05/2010 12:30

Yes, mine was part one. May I say that I found it totally boring...
Sput tell me about your 1980s obscure movies

OP posts:
Rosa · 18/05/2010 12:59

I don't think I saw any odd movies I was probably in the pub ..... I remember my first date with dh we went to see saving Private Ryan ....sooo romantic.
I am so at this country.
INPS have been at it again they decided that as dh has his own company ( its just him with 1 employee) they would shove an ipoteca on the casa - Just like that without even writing us a letter. We have not even had the place a month....I am just in complete shock at how they can just 'do this' . He is not behind with payments in fact he is in credit with them for Euro2000 as they made a mistake. We now have to wait 1-2 weeks until the commercialista sorts it out. Imagine if we had gone to the bank to ask for our restoration loan and this had popped out of the woodwork. Bloody idiots the lot of them ....

Francagoestohollywood · 18/05/2010 13:03

To me, just the mention of the name INPS makes my blood freeze...

OP posts:
Sputnik · 18/05/2010 13:50

DD asked me what INPS were the other day. I told her they were nastly little green and purple creatures.

Hello everyone, getting squeezed BTW window and other passenger on train, not having a great day. We got all eurosceptic ministers in our dpt, hurray (one is anti-gay rights, ex military too, bordering on ukip)...just had a quick read of last page, Rosa, good news about house. Had similar probs with tax credits, I always owe them money for my 50p salary increase... last time I went to the cinema was ocean 11!! Used to go nearly every em with mum once upon a time... anyway, nearly home, back soon hopefully. Ciao

Francagoestohollywood · 18/05/2010 18:51

Hello camo! Gosh, how depressing (william hague is terrible, isn't he?)

OP posts:
AllQuietOnThePippisFront · 18/05/2010 22:28

A quick hello! Hope you are all okay.

Rosa how exciting about the house!!! Very envious too. I wish I had excuse/money to redo mine.

Camo, very impressed with your MNiing on the train. Please do let me know how the changes affect your dept/work. Very interested.

Sputnik heard it is going great with DS. Fantastic!

Ciao.

Sputnik · 18/05/2010 22:48

Hi/bye
Wish you were not living up to your name so much Pippi!
And what about Mcnulty?

Rosa · 19/05/2010 13:01

Pippi - nice to see you don't be a stranger !
This is our first house so a few years behind most people !!!
I must book our return flights from the UK that is if the volcano lets us get there....

Francagoestohollywood · 19/05/2010 18:54

@ Sput's hi/bye ... come on pippi come back, we miss youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

I've had a very hectic day, but I also managed to go to the hairdresser and dye my hair which was scandalously "salt and pepper" and made me look like:

  • my aunt (according to dh)
  • Nicky Vendola, according to a dear friend of mine

...

OP posts:
Rosa · 19/05/2010 20:08

TAke it dd diddn't cry this time ????

Francagoestohollywood · 19/05/2010 21:04

OP posts:
Rosa · 20/05/2010 10:40

DH wins the prize for never noticing or never commenting !!!
Its getting very quiet on here where is everybody or are they just having RL ???

Sputnik · 20/05/2010 11:31

Too much rl for me!
Between chasing round with stuff for DS, work (gasp!) and part time children's taxi service.

Sputnik · 20/05/2010 11:31

And renewing DD's passport, why do UK passports have to be so effing complicated?
