hello, ciao, etc

OP posts:
Sputnik · 05/05/2010 13:33

yes Franca, will get onto it, sorry for holding on to them so long.

I wish greying temples and crumpled linen was considered an attractive look for women, would save a bit of time on maintenance. Did he happen to have bushy eyebrows too?

I booked with Ryanair in the end instead of easyjet. Means a 3 hour drive instead of a 1.5 hr drive but was about half the cost. Trick is to book months ahead, which obviously I never do.

Rosa · 05/05/2010 13:41

No sorry no bushy eyebrows. He has to get his trapano out soon - now that could be vibrating !!!!
Flight have you looked at TUI fly they often sell seat only - however they get cheaper the nearer the date as the need to flog the seats. I can't do Ryan air unless I have no kids and only hand luggage.Plus it leaves from Treviso.
Pain about dd Franca is she just full of cold?
Seems a bit lighter here now it was rather horrible tihs am. DD in a state about Nonni going domani aparently she asked at nursery of they could come to the festa della mamma on friday even if they were nonni !!!!

Francagoestohollywood · 05/05/2010 14:26

No worries Sputnik!!!

Greying temples. Yes. I've got really grey hair and haven't been to the hairdresser since february. I was told that I look like Nicky Vendola! ! Oh dear

Dd has no febbre today, but is coughing more. Would you ring the doctor? Boh, dh says not to, I would.

Rosa, sorry for dd . Mine used to get really upset when nonni were leaving when we were in the UK. It's sad.

Still raining heavily here, it's cold and no heating, of course. It's depressing and booooooooooooooring.

OP posts:
Rosa · 05/05/2010 14:31

If its moving grasso then I wouldn't BUT having said that if it gets worse I would or if she can't sleep at night. Sounds like a similar thing that we all had here - I am still coughing !
If its raining at your end then it will be here in a couple of hours !

Francagoestohollywood · 05/05/2010 14:42

Cough is a bit drier today, which I don't like. Shall I ring?

OP posts:
Sputnik · 05/05/2010 15:41

If she doesn't have fever I would just do an aerosol, as that is what the paed always tells you to do anyway (or ours did). Do you have clenil?

I had grey temples this morning but no more [smug].

Francagoestohollywood · 05/05/2010 16:22

Yes, no temp today. ANd yes, I was thinking of doing an aerosol with clenil before bedtime. I bought the machine when they had swine flu.

OP posts:
Rosa · 06/05/2010 12:11

If the cough gets worse I would go on Fri for peace of mind over the weekend. Cleniel is a good on and Fluibron - mixed with Aqua di sirmione.
Well done on the temples........
Bah looks like rain again !

Francagoestohollywood · 06/05/2010 14:50

Raining again here too, wtf?

Have left a message to the doc, I wonder whether she'll ring me back

I'm starting to feel all apprehensive for the elections in the UK

OP posts:
giveitago · 07/05/2010 12:04

Franca - be apprehensive - the elections certainly adding to the global economic shite.

I'm labour usually - this time voted lib deb (not a hope in hells chance in my neck of north londong) in the hope that my vote would add to a stronger coalistion while it's needed. Not so - lib deb have done worse (unsurprising given the recession and people wanting to stick to what they know)

BUT - given tory's have 'won' when is GB going to resign and let cameron form a coalition (with the three lib dem votes given) - oh shit - it's very bad for the UK right now.

giveitago · 07/05/2010 12:12

ha ha! was also hoping my spelling would be better - but not so.

At least BNP did, erm, shite - as I predicted - lots of faults in GB but fascist we are not. Thank goodness.

Poor old LibDem - was a wasted vote - but then again Cons got Finchley where I live but I suppose that's historically obvious (Thatcher's campaign took place about 100 yards from my home).

Francagoestohollywood · 07/05/2010 13:14

Have only just got home and need to read all the newspapers online.

OP posts:
giveitago · 07/05/2010 14:02

Well suppose it makes British politics interesting - for once.

Francagoestohollywood · 07/05/2010 14:06

I do have a soft spot for GB

OP posts:
giveitago · 07/05/2010 14:14

Oh - so you're a fan of the dour, superior Scot - me too! Well more than the chirpy Etonian English type.

Rosa · 07/05/2010 14:25

All I can say is that the Uk is following the footsteps of Italy a bloody political mess.
DH has 8 minutes to get home so I can get to dd nursery for festa della mamma. ( Even walking at a fast pace)He has gone to the casa ( with hunky engineer) to bash some holes in walls / floors. ENgineers kids at same nursery so DH has NO excuse to say gotta go home as minirosa has been throwing febbre alte 1 week after her MMR so not exactly a good idea to take her to nursery seeing as 3 kids were sent home ill yesterday!
He knows this is important to dd as she was sad that minrosa wouldn't be going ......
5 mins now !

giveitago · 07/05/2010 14:44

Happy festa della mamm!!!

follwing italy in footsteps- that's probably why dh, for the first time ever, is interested in the elections here. LOL.

Are you sure the fever is to do with mmr and not coming down with something else?

Rosa · 07/05/2010 16:33

They said that febbre is 7 days after ( and onwards) . She does have a cough but seeing as she throws febbre after every vacc my inclination is that. We will see.
I missed the festa..............
The engineer made it and said that dh diddn't say that he had to be home by 3.30 so I could go ..... DH said he haddn't got his watch on and I should have called him. Oh so his 2 telephones don't tell the time then. I am so about it and even his attitude not even sorry . Am I being petty ?

Sputnik · 07/05/2010 18:02

Don't think it's petty at all Rosa, hope your DD wasn't too disappointed.
He was probably enjoying knocking the wall down, but no excuse.

BananaGio · 08/05/2010 08:06

rain rain rain in Rome. Feel like am back in Manchester
How are the sick dcs?
So a hung parliament! After dithering over my opinions on PR for years have decided am for it, especially as Tory plans are to change the boundaries in their favour again!Hope Clegg can secure some kind of reform as part of his wheeling and dealing.
MM helloooooo you there???? Want to hear about India.

Sputnik · 08/05/2010 08:18

Yes we are up in the hills and have the heating on, ffs.
Yes PR, bing it on.
I see the Greens won in Brighton, I used to live there and voted green 20 years ago, I feel like a trendsetter!

BananaGio · 08/05/2010 08:50

I am laying on the sofa (lazy Saturday morning emoticon) with fleecy blanket over me!!In May!! Having a self indulgent morning to set myself up for FIL full of joy and good cheer weekly Sat lunch visit
DS obsessed with the Children in Need Peter Kay dvd at the moment - keeps singing one of the scenes and is copying Peter Kays accent- sounds right northern (normally sounds Italian English for some reason- where does that accent come from??) hence my amusement.
Was pleased re Greens Sput - at least they have a voice in parliament now

busynotbored · 08/05/2010 12:52

Giveitago - I was stranded in Finchley last Sunday after the trains stopped !
We voted although DH could only vote in the local elections. I voted Labour, I don't trust Conservative's after living in a mining town thoroughout the Thatcher years !
I think Cameron's a traitor if he goes with the conservative's... I always though Liberal and Conservative were two opposite words.

Francagoestohollywood · 08/05/2010 12:59

Hello,
oh Rosa oh no you missed the recita. I'd be fuming too. What did dd say about it?

And poor minirosa. Yes, it could be mmr, but bear in mind that everyone appears to be ill with this viral cold/cough/temp dd had at the moment.
I took dd to the doctor at the end on thurs afternoon and she said 3 days of aerosol with clenil. She is still under the weather imo, a bit stanca and not her usual cheerful self. Povera.

Yes, dire weather is contributing to my foul mood.

I'll go and have a look on the depressed lefty thread.
What will happen? and this casino with greece/euro etc. aiutooooooo

OP posts:
Sputnik · 08/05/2010 13:19

Well look at it this way. Whatever happens in the UK it can not be as bad as
a) Thatcher
b) Berlusca & co
No?

The Greece / euro thing is worrying though. I ate a large Greek salad today in solidarity. Am planning on a yogurt later. At least Total won't go down....
