NCT sales in London

I have just checked the NCT site to see if there are any nearly new sale in central London, and is it my imagination or are there non??

I know some posters here work with the NCT, so perhaps someone could tell me if I'm looking in the wrong place?

Or is everyone who lives in central London supposed to be too rich to buy at an NCT sale?

Apparently the Clapham one is great to go to for designer bargains

I've no idea when or where they hold them though. Do you know what your local branch is?

pie · 29/06/2003 18:36

Wow, theres like only 1 for the entire 'central london' area, and they only seem to organise courses.

Clapham is about 1.5 hours on public transport in my current state. Never mind, looks like I'm going to have to buy stuff new

ok, ok, the next one is 11.00am Sat 27th September at Broomwood Methodist Church Hall (entrance in Kyrle Rd SW11) - absolutely no need to get there early, turn up at 12.30 will be fine...

ok, i confess, you need to get there at least 10.45 or even earlier, as there are huge queues...

batters, lunch after?

RockingRosebud · 29/06/2003 22:12

Go to www.pregnancyandbabycare.com and click on News and then Nearly New Sales.

Sales are usually held Mar/April and then again Sept/Oct/Nov some branches have dedicated toy sales in Nov.

HTH.

pie, just around the corner from you (well not too far) there is a good second hand children's shop which sells buggies and things as well as clothes, equipment and toys. Can't remember the name, but it is on Blythe Road (behind olympia) opposite Masbro Road. Worth a visit to see what is in at the time - if you are looking for something specific you can just tell the very nice woman who owns it and she will call you if it comes in.
Also useful to know about because you can give her all your old childrens' clothes and things that you don't need/like - you price them up and when she sells them you get the cash less a percentage which she keeps. Easy way to make some extra cash without having to go through the hassle of a carboot sale or something.
Really sorry i can't remember the name of it - if I do I'll post it!

What about Chiswick? Information Line: 020 8742 0157

They haven't any details listed on the site but I'm sure they do sales. They are a pretty active branch.

SueW · 30/06/2003 14:06

I've just asked, by the way, on the NCT list for which branches cover Olympia and the surrounding areas and when their NNS are so hope someone will get back to me with the info soon (although everyone seems to be on hols at the moment - my email box is suffering from a distinct lack of incoming messages!)

SueW · 01/07/2003 12:15

Pie, if you are still interested:

From an NCT correspondent in Chiswick:
"The next NNS in Chiswick will be Saturday 4th Oct, 10.30 -12noon. It is a combined table top and equipment sale at Chiswick Town Hall.

Central London have never had a NNS to my knowledge (past 10years).

Ealing Branch does have some NNS but I don't have any dates for them, you could try the branch Secretary"

I'm just about to try the Ealing branch for you.

HTH.

Ealing's sale is also 4 October. Want more details or do you prefer to go to Chiswick?

RachelRob · 15/11/2007 14:51

There's an NCT sale this Sat in Chiswick in St Michael's church 10.30-3pm.
The name of the shop on Blythe road is Boomerang.
There's a new shop in Ealing called Loop (loopforkids.co.uk) that I've not been to but looks good for posh seconds.
