Can anyone suggest a Lightweight, Waterproof, Breathable Womens Jacket up to 50 pounds?

There are so many different jackets out there that I'm confused at what to buy. I only want it for weekends, school run and camping and preferably black, or brown. I think I need a 'shell' jacket as I can pop a fleece under for extra warmth. Ideas welcome as wasted most of the morning looking. Thank you.

Lowe alpine triple point jackets are comfortable and mine has stayed waterproof without any special treatment. You can also throw them into the washing machine and tumble dryer if they get grubby. I got mine for about £50 in a sale. This was about five years ago though.

Rohan sometimes have some good bargains at sale time too, particularly if you go to one of their shops and you are prepared to take something in a less popular colour. The online bargains seem to shift quicker than I can get my hands on them!

I have a NorthFace one. If you are near Lakeside, Decathlon have them quite cheaply.

You might be able to get a Car Bodyshop to give you three coats of Cellulose Lacquer, that would work just as well but might be a bit stiff to move.......
