Think it's very dependant on area. I am just outside London and pay my childminder £4 an hour. That includes all food.

Thanks Kayleigh

I pay £4.50 an hour (without food) in Brighton and £6 after 6pm or before 8am.

sparkler - think poole is like reading, around here it's between 3 and 3.5 an hour.

Thanks. Just wondered. I'm not a childminder but I have helped out some parents this morning at the school gate. Their childminder let them down and they both had to get to work. It's the last day of term and the kids are breaking up at lunchtime. One has to go to a pre-school party this afternoon so I shall be running them back and fore too. They said they would sort something out with me later. They said that their childminder let them down and basically I was their childminder today.
I feel embarassed to take anything as I did offer. I don't know them brilliantly well - just to say hello to at school and I help at their dds preschool once a week so she is used to me from there.
