Where's your PC?

I am thinking of having our PC in the kitchen in our new house.

It's a big kitchen, and will be in a sort of alcove, away from cooking & sink etc.

Is this a good idea? Where is yours?

If you've got a choice, is it better to be shut away in a study or spare room upstairs, or in the middle of things?

It might mean I burn the dinner less often, as well

ours is in an alcove in the living room and it works really well for us as 9/10 times one of us is mostly on it - this way at least we're all in the same room.

at the bottom of the stairs. it would not fit in the living room/dining room as too small and no way would I have it in the bedroom as the bedroom is for s* only!

On my knee, its a laptop!

Mine is in the corner of our living area, next to the sofa and so I can look out of the balcony window too. Also means I can sit and be online here, but still chat to DH

in the back hallway! it big enough to have the puter, the tumble dryer a book case, the buggy and the ironing board!!

living room is taken up with toys atm!!!

Yes - better in a living area I think, when we had it upstairs at our old house dh & I never saw each other except in bed.

Ours is in the kitchen. I got fed up with dp closeted away upstairs for hours on end playing games! So we moved it down to the kitchen - now I get to see him in the evenings again!!

biglips · 20/07/2005 21:38

its in the 2nd living room (at the back of the house) away from the tv and the baba - peace and quiet in here

Eugenious · 20/07/2005 21:38

in the orifice

Linnet · 20/07/2005 21:46

In the living room, no space anywhere else for it.

TwinSetAndPearls · 20/07/2005 21:50

in the study, which is upstairs at the front of the house

Weatherwax · 20/07/2005 21:56

alcove in the living room - where I can see what the children are doing on the PC and when on MN I can still talk to everyone.

Tommy · 20/07/2005 21:58

in the dining room - at the other end from the table

GetOrlaithOut · 20/07/2005 21:58

In the office (home)

helsi · 20/07/2005 22:05

We have a den with telly, record player (yes record player), excessive amounts of DHs CDs and records, a wall plastered with cut outs from magazines (completely covered hap hazard stylee), lots of unuseful crap like remote control cars that have been bought as Christmas presents and the computer. I like having it away from the main living area to avoid being on it too much. Doesnt really work though!
