Another use for washing liquid dosing caps...

C'mon, there has to be one.

I like to think I'm quite a good recycler. I carefully sort everything into the 4 different bins we have and find uses for other bits which can't be recycled - but those dosing caps (like the one's you get on Fairy Non Bio Gel) have got me stumped.

We get through quite a bit of washing with a nearly 3 year old and a 12 week old baby so I have loads of them - I just can't bear to throw them away!

Anyone have any suggestions.

Any other clever re-use tips you want to share too??

Buy boxes of powder instead (loose powder, not tablets), and use an old plastic cup as a scoop.

Although some come with scoops provided so then you'd have the problem of what to do with the scoop. Having said that the last couple of boxes I bought didn't come with scoops.

The powder is better for your washing machine as well as it doesn't gunge up its innards like the liquids do.

Old scoops (or lids for that matter) are good for toddlers to play with water with in the garden or bath, there you are!

I didn't know the powder was better for your machine - thanks Cider.

I just liked the way it didn't make the drawer all gunky like powder does

Egg cups
set of tumblers for the dolls
cutter-outerer for playdough
flower pots for dolls house/minature garden
rubbish bin for dolls house
a dozed fitted into a box = a button or coin sorter

DD2 made a dolls house from a wine crate for her DD. I managed to furnish most of it from my odds and ends box + a little imagination, eg toilet = flip top from shower gel. Shower = centre + stem from an artificial flower.

these are the one's I'm taking about. The lid is the little triangle-y bit on the top of the bottle.

Too small for egg cups definitely but Playdough cutter outerer could work

Add a bit of plasticine, a lolly stick and a triangle of coloured paper and you can make it into a small boat.

Or use them as targets for a game of tiddlywinks.

I like the little boats idea Would be great to do at toddler group if i collect a load
