1st period after childbirth - heavy?

Periods are back (finally!...14mths after birth!) but so are cramps haven't had such a heavy crampy period since i was a teen! is this the way of things to come? my cycle pre-conception had ebbed off to just a couple of days flow with no cramps/pmt or otherwise, are those days gone forever?

I found my first post-birth (9 months after) to be more painful, but if I remember from last time, they soon settle down to normal.

you usually have a couple of heavy periods then things get back to normalish after about your third one, thats what i found

Mine aren't painful (childbirth seems to have cured that!) but have been heavier ever since having children.
