I have recently had my hours cut by half at my cleaning job and i have had a look online for other work. I have come accross some homeworking opportunities. I asked for more info. I got a reply which said that it's e-mail processing and for thw first month there is a trial period which is free and should you not be happy they will then leave you alone, if you are happy then there is a £50 cost to carry on. How can i tell the scams from the good? I would be happy with some very simple work (like mailing envelopes)but am worried about giving myself a load of hassle!

Linzoid

I looked into similar things with my wife last year to make more money and most of them require you to make some sort of outlay.

The few that didn't seemed to be a lot of work for very little.

In the end I worked out that it would be easier to deliver leaflets and free newspapers than to do most homework schemes.

There are a few good ones out there but things like your letter stuffing usually require you to buy the supplies from someone and then make money from replies they get from any mail you send out. Not the best way of doing things.

Linzoid, I haven't any experience of doing those jobs, but I knew a guy once who answered an ad which said 'turn your black and white television into instant colour. Send one pound' He did and he got back a piece of plastic to hang over the telly with at the bottom green, in the middle red and at the top blue ! I'm sure I've read that most of the earn instant money things are scams so please be really careful(as you are being).
Have you thought of doing homebaking and selling it? You know, really simple things like flapjacks and rock cakes that you can throw together in 10 minutes. Perhaps you could have a stall at a farmer's market or something? People love home made cakes. Or I made cards , photocopied them and sold them to friends and shops which like something different.I know it's not regular , but it was something.I hope you find your job.
