E-bay, why would this happen?

Over the weekend i bid on a top & thought i had got myself a bargain. It was a brand new top from monsoon for £4.99!

This morning i received an e-mail saying the payment had been refused, there is money in my account & on the summary page it is still asking me to pay??

Has anyone else had this happen?

Has the seller refused to accept payment and relisted it?

Not sure that can happen, btw.

I don't know, i'll have a look though...

Can't see it, i've e-mailed the seller though, so i'll have to wait & see what happens

If the seller only has an ordinary Paypal account, they can't accept credit card payments. That might explain it perhaps?

I've had a seller accidentally refuse the payment. It came back to me. He sent me email explaining what had happened, and asking me to resend.

I was a bit concerned, but I resent, and it was fine.

I'd wait and see what the seller says? Maybe there is a problem with the item or auction and they have to cancel?

Is your direct debit/credit card out of date? You can have the money in your acount but if you have recently had a new card through and not updated your details Paypal will refuse payment (they usually send you a reminder email when your card is coming up to its expiry date though). Just a thought?

Thanks everyone, it was because of the sellers type of paypal account. The top is still mine i just need to send a cheque
