argh..me and dp are in a ridiculously tight bind..
his wages didn't come through today, so now will be monday at the earliest. I went to the social security today on the advice of c.a.b only to be flatly refused..they wouldn't even let me apply. they say as i'm not working and my benefit claim hasn't been processed yet then they have no guarante of geting the money back.
all this even though i am 5 months pregnant, and i explained to them we literally have no food in the house!
i'm so cross that dp's work can't do anything about this, and even crosser that the social refused me help.
any ideas on how to get some living expenses for the nest few days asap?

my mum is in work, so can't go to bank..unless they are open tomorrow. do you know if it will go through right away on a weekend?

she has said i can use her details to do a shop..so we will have food for monday at least..mums are such stars, i hate having to trouble her for things like this now i'm supposed to be independent

Buy some tins of lentils and beans and some pasta too so if you have another emergency then we can come up with a recipe for you.

I'm just doing one now for sainsburys, as that has the earliest delivery slot I can get..never done it before..takes a while to find things! but at least i won't be tempted by the aisles of sweets..he he

we have been saved!..if anyone else is in this position..my mum just found out you can transfer money via western union using a card online, and i will be able to collect it in 20 minutes..
so she is giving us a little cash that way, and i'm ploughing on with the shop..maybe if i was task focused and not busy chatting to friends on msn and mumsnetting i'd be getting it done faster, he he..
again! thank god for mums...
