Sponsoring a child through World Vision

Hi, i have been thinking of sponsoring a child for sometime and have finally gone ahead and done it. I chose to do it through World Vision. Originally I had chosen to go through Plan Uk but they are now not allowing you to send presents to your sponsored child which is one of things i really want to do.

Anyway, just got my introduction pack etc for my child. he is a 7 year old boy in Ethiopia. I chose him because he is around the same age as my ds (6).

i know there are alot of you on here who sponsor a child abroad and i wondered what sort of gifts have you sent over the years? have they all been things that he/she can play with or have you also sent more practical gifts?

thanks you for you input. I am very excited about getting to know my sponsored child and any tips etc to do and not to do would also be appreciated.

the gifts have to go in an envelope so they have to be small. We have sent stickers, balloons, small notebooks, mini coloured pencils, paper aeroplanes, small set of cards, yoyo ...
The absoloute winner was sticky stetchy frogs that you throw at a wall and they slowly crawl down .

Paperchase do lots of things.

Pens and pencils, notebooks, stickers, hairclips or hair bobbles, pencil cases.
Anything that fits in an A5 envelope really.

you keep bumping but I am not really sure what else you want tbh.
If you are worried about the sharpener I would phone world vision and ask. It wouldn't occur to me that it would be considered a blade.
What else is it you want to know?
