Are there any women that you think make good role models for your daughters (other than yourself!)
and for what reasons?

Tanni Grey Thompson (paralympic athlete).. for her determination.

This is another great make-you-ponder thread, unicorn. Is it on the home page yet? Dang well should be.

Need to have more think; but, off immediate top of head, women who have done/said things that have made me cheer & that I would like dd (in very due course) to pick up on:

  • Betty Friedan (Feminine Mystique, my teenage eye-opener)
  • Libby Purves
  • Germaine Greer (love her too because sometimes she talks a bit of rot - human)
  • Kate Adie (esp. memorable speech I heard at a Downs charity she supports)
  • our very own blu.
