Apart from feeling bit sorry for myself - im a bit concerned.

Huge filling fell out two weeks ago - no pain but left very exposed. Dentist put in temp filling then went back on friday to get prepared for a crown.

The plan is to fit the crown over the temporary filling as they dont want to mess with the tooth too much.

Anyway now (4 days later) in absolute agony. Not just where tooth is but whole of that side.

Does this mean more likely to need root canal - or could this still be result of work done on friday (just not settled down)?

Due to go back in ten days to have crown fitted.

Not sure what asking really - but synpathy would be good even if no answers :-)

I know how you feel - have had horrendous problems recently with an old root canal, so feel your pain

You must give them a ring, it could be the difference between a root canal and not having one.

Absolute agony sounds like infection to me - ring dentist and INSIST on being see today. You may need antibiotics

thank you I will ring them then. Im working away from home so couldnt get there till friday but better than waiting 10 days. Just needed someone to tell me pain not good - so thank you

btw i've had a root canal and it did not hurt at all honestly and I am the worst at the dentist.

got an appointment later today after work.

Sympathy for you too Poledra . theres nothing quite like tooth pain.

And thanks for the reassurance Love Being a Muumy!

realise that doesnt make sense - working away from home for two days from first thing in the morning. And didnt think there was any chance they would see me today.
