Right, well I'm off to make lunch for the DDs - see anyone who is remotely interested back here at 12.46

london doesn't even have a stadium, does it?

Janh · 06/07/2005 12:01

The new Wembley will be finished soon?

SoupDragon · 06/07/2005 12:01

teeavee. Can you imagine the British and French having to co-operate over something? It would be marvellous. Could do us all the world of good.

Of course I know that British and French can and do get on BTW.

Janh · 06/07/2005 12:02

Ici!

RTKangaMummy · 06/07/2005 12:02

Sailing has already built a centre in weymouth IIRC so that can be used by locals from now on

DEFFO BRILL

handlemecarefully · 06/07/2005 12:10

Dh has suggested that it might be better if the French won it because the Brits are gracious in defeat.

(I like that, I can quote Dh and then he get's rebuked not me!)

PiccadillyCircus · 06/07/2005 12:12

HMC - wasn't implying any thickness, honestly . Just was wanting to show off my knowledge of Olympics dates .

bundle · 06/07/2005 12:13

now tuned into 5live

SoupDragon · 06/07/2005 12:15

PiccadillyCircus, you may be very knowledgeable about past olympic dates & locations but can you remember where you left your housekeys??

handlemecarefully · 06/07/2005 12:17

PC, no worries. I wasn't taking umbrage - just didn't want you to think that I was a dunce!

handlemecarefully · 06/07/2005 12:17

almostanangel · 06/07/2005 12:18

blimy i will be 44!

handlemecarefully · 06/07/2005 12:18

But clearly I am a dunce because I have managed to post ostensibly the same thing, but worded differently, twice

PiccadillyCircus · 06/07/2005 12:18

They are in the back door at the moment.

Although where my pass to get into work is (working from home today) I have no idea.

RTKangaMummy · 06/07/2005 12:19

We in the Kanga house absolutely love the Olympics and so will be glued to watching it whether it is here or in paris

It is just that would love to go and see it live IYSWIM in this country

So it will be DEFFO BRILL if we get it and ok if they get it,

I can see a positive in that we won't have to pay for it but will still be able to watch in nearly the same time zone on Television.Rather than staying up all night to watch like in Sydney.

Nightynight · 06/07/2005 12:21

no breath being held around here.

handlemecarefully · 06/07/2005 12:21

Yep deffo brill!

flashingnose · 06/07/2005 12:21

God, the thought of actually being there when (for example) Kelly Holmes won - fantastic and the kind of thing you remember forever.

OP posts:
flashingnose · 06/07/2005 12:21

Bah humbug nightynight

OP posts:
handlemecarefully · 06/07/2005 12:22

We are all going to be seriously deflated on here in approx. 20 minutes time

flashingnose · 06/07/2005 12:22

Keep the faith, hmc

PiccadillyCircus · 06/07/2005 12:24

Good point RTKM - at least we can watch things at a sensible time.

handlemecarefully · 06/07/2005 12:24
  • ok will try...

I think if we are victorious Kanga should start a thread entitled "deffo brill" where we can celebrate

almostanangel · 06/07/2005 12:25
