7.30pm their time - what time is that here?

PiccadillyCircus · 06/07/2005 11:44

How old will DS and DS2/DD be in 2012? DS will be 8.5 and DS2/DD will be nearly 7. Will probably have another one by then I imagine.

I will be nearly 37.

emmatmg · 06/07/2005 11:44

I'm surprised at how excited I am about this.

I think we will get it.

Got to take Ds2 to nursey at 12:40 but will take my radio with me to hear the announcment as it happens.

bundle · 06/07/2005 11:44

if london loses out, i'd rather madrid got it

PiccadillyCircus · 06/07/2005 11:45

New York are already out.

flashingnose · 06/07/2005 11:45

Too late bundle

Oh, no it has to be on another continent entirely - and even then, it won't be far enough for me!

Lizzylou · 06/07/2005 11:45

OMG, I will be 39 ...nearly, gulp, 40!
And DS will be 8 and new DS/DD will be 6!!!!!!
Blimey!

PiccadillyCircus · 06/07/2005 11:46

And Madrid are out.

1136 BST: Madrid is the third city to be eliminated.
Matt Williams, BBC Radio Five Live, Madrid
Disappointment, shock and surprise - those are the feelings here. They were chanting 'A Madrid' before the announcement but that has now changed and I can't repeat what they're saying now.

teeavee · 06/07/2005 11:47

ETA have been doing their best to sabotage the Madrid bid though

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 06/07/2005 11:48

i will be coming up 30! Dh will be nearly 34! Jess will be 8! new babe coming up 7!!!

RTKangaMummy · 06/07/2005 11:48

DS will be 17 and so the right age to compete

Sorry did not want to offend anyone

It is just that I would have pprefered it to go to one of the other cities

I think New york would have been my first choice really for an alternative

emmatmg · 06/07/2005 11:48

what frequency is Five Live on?

NotQuiteCockney · 06/07/2005 11:48

We live near the proposed main site. I really hope we don't get it.

flashingnose · 06/07/2005 11:49

Why NQC?

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 06/07/2005 11:49

Nope.

Fimbo · 06/07/2005 11:49

I will be 44 , dd will be 14 and ds coming up for 9.

zubb · 06/07/2005 11:51

Radio 5 - 693 and 909 MW I think (have it on the computer all day so forget where it is on the dial)

Janh · 06/07/2005 11:51

Madrid was never going to get it because Barcelona had it so recently.

London would implode. I think Paris should have it.

flashingnose · 06/07/2005 11:51

To me, it looks like a win win situation all round if London get it - put me right soupy/NQC.

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 06/07/2005 11:51

I hate sports, crowds. Also, used to live in a city with a big Olympic stadium we were still paying for when it fell apart. Never really worked right, anyway.

Buildings should be made for longterm use, or adaptability, not for a few weeks' use.

QueenOfQuotes · 06/07/2005 11:52

DS1 will turn 12 in Sept 2012
DS2 will turn 9 in November 2012

NotQuiteCockney · 06/07/2005 11:52

And the transit/congestion situation won't improve, either.

teeavee · 06/07/2005 11:53

funny bit on french news where they showed british journalists asking awkward questions to the french bid team, and vice versa.

I have to say that I would hate to see Seb Coe becoming a 'national hero' if London won - the Paris mayor, Bertrand Delanoe, has done a lot of really good things for Paris already, and I like his style. Much less tacky than Posh and Becks too!

handlemecarefully · 06/07/2005 11:53

This is going to go great for Anglo French relations, which are already strained, innit?

Obviously hope that it is London
