I am booked for a consultation in three weeks and wanted to hear about anyones experiences?? I have been considering the surgery for many years and with the wedding of my little sis coming up at the end of the year, feel like it is now or never.

Hi LittleSilver, I am booked for just under 4 weeks, I have wanted the surgery from about 15, so 20 year now, am half excited and half frightend. How did you find the recovery and seeing a different nose on yourself? I think the idea of the op and coming round bothers me more than the recovery after that....

How sore is it? Any tips for a speady recovery?

I thin ktere are different ways of doing it so don't necessarily take me version as gospel OK? It wasn't too uncomfortable afterwards, though I was very swollen (they make you sleep sitting up to reduce this but I can't!). I had to have the bit between my nostrils, argh, what IS it called? cut inside, so had stitches (non-dissolvable) across which were very uncomfortable to have out. Also so great big cast type thing across nose for ten days which made me look like a prat. The weirdest thing was having the cast off; you know the feel, as in the shape of your own face, don't you? Well, it's very odd when it changes! Like touching someone else's face. I don't have full sensation to the tip of my nose, I think where they cut it, but can't honestly say that it bothers me at all.

MY version, not me version.

Littlesilver that doesnt sound too bad ! . How long did it take to heal properly? .
I actually cant wait to get mine done now. think its a septorhinoplasty ive to get- have really bad problem breathing, always getting sinus pain , and snore like an old drunk.
Because its to fix damage from an accident i dont think the nose will change that much -just get straightened up .
Littlesilver - do you like your "new" nose, or are you still finding it odd?.
