Yep - been a long wait. But what were they doing letting Roger Waters do some of the vocals on Wish You Were Here - shouldn't have been allowed!

Lol i must admit for the first time ever i can finally see why my friends used to laugh at me for liking them. they do look like old men at weddings, but a tad more talent!

I honestly have never felt that before, same goes for all my fave oldies, they were just them, but i'm now seeing ageing.

I always had hope i'd get my dd into the good stuff but she's only 2.5 shes never going to look at bands like that and understand the attraction

She does like Abba though

"Artistic differences" since the Wall was so much Roger Water's autobiography (or something like that).

lunachic- do you like Richard Gere too?.. as Roger has a remarkable resemblance!!

emily05 · 03/07/2005 00:35

I think that what happened was Roger waters had 'differences' with the band and buggered off - and the other continued without him. He sued them over the name 'pink floyd' because he wanted it (he lost)
I like the wall, but it is very spaced out and trippy!

Another PF fan here!

I was surprised that no-one has yet said how emotional they found 'Wish You Were Here' - or maybe that's just me!

Roger singing the verse in WYWH was as much a surprise to me as anyone. However, as it was written as a song for Syd (he introduced it as such) I'm sure Roger really, desperately, wanted to sing the part for Syd's benefit, knowing there was a good chance that Syd would be actually watching, which is why his voice cracked up. He hasn't seen Syd for even longer than he hadn't played with the rest of the Floyd, after all.

That's what I felt anyway.

Great set, Comfy Numb was perfect.
